Aria Hosting $500,000 Buy-In Super High Roller This Summer

'Super High Roller Bowl' Estimated To Build $25 Million Prize Pool

The second largest buy-in poker tournament in history has recently been announced.

Aria Resort & Casino is set to host a $500,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em tournament as part of it’s 2015 Super High Roller Bowl, taking place from June 27th through July 4th.

The event will take place as this summer’s World Series of Poker nears it’s climax, likely looking to take advantage of the fact that the majority of the poker world will have converged on Las Vegas for event’s like the $111,111 High Roller For One Drop, the $25,000 WSOP pot-limit Omaha high roller and of course the WSOP main event. The Super High Roller Bowl’s website estimates a prize pool of $25 million dollars for the marquee event, with a predicted first-place prize of over $8 million. To reach that prediction would require at least 50 entries into the huge tournament, slated to run from July 2- 4.

Aria has had success with high roller events in this slot before. In 2014 the casino hosted a $100,000 buy-in event that drew a massive 87-entry field to build a $8.6 million prize pool. Dan Smith banked over $2 million for emerging victorious from a heads-up battle with Jason Mercier.

There are currently 33 players listed as potential participants on the event’s website, including the likes ofvPhil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth, Tom Dwan and Phil Galfond. Also slated to be in attendance are Daniel Colman and Antonio Esfandiari, both winners of the only event with a larger buy-in than this tournament, the $1 million buy-in Big One For One Drop.

Aria is holding a contest on the event’s website that will award accommodation at the hotel for two, flights, front-row seats at the final table and $5,000 spending money.
