CardPlayer.com will host the live cash game streams for all Live at the Bike webcasts (every Tuesday and Friday, 7:30-10:30 p.m. PST) and also partner with Live at the Bike for special programming.
To celebrate the partnership, Card Player will be bringing you the cash game hand of the week, featured from a past episode of Live at the Bike.
Here’s a look at this week’s hand.
The Details
Game: $5-$5 no-limit hold’em
Approximate Stack Sizes: Greg ($940) and Phil ($1,400)
Action: Nyle straddles from under the gun to $10 and both Harry and Koz call from early position and Greg calls from the cutoff. Phil also calls from the button, as does Dario in the big blind.
Nyle checks his option and the flop comes down A A
9
. Everyone checks to Greg, who bets $30. Phil calls and the turn is the 5
. Both players check and the river is the 8
.
Greg bets $30, Phil raises to $140 and Greg moves all in after about a minute of thought. Phil immediately calls with A 9
for a flopped full house and Greg can’t believe his luck, turning over A
8
for the rivered second nuts.
The Questions
Should Greg or Phil have been raising preflop with their aces considering the passive limping in front of them on a straddled hand? What do you think of Greg’s flop bet size? Should Phil be raising the flop in order to extract maximum value or does his position on the button allow him to trap more effectively? What do you think of Phil’s decision to check behind on the turn? If Greg doesn’t fill up, how much value can Phil get from his boat?
