Episodes Begin Premiering July 22 and Will Continue on Tuesday Nights

Tuesdays just got that much more exciting, as ESPN recently announced the 2008 World Series of Poker television schedule, and beginning July 22, “Tuesday night is poker night on ESPN.”

Every Tuesday night from July 22-Sept. 2 a new episode of the WSOP will premiere from 8-10 p.m. ET. The first episode appropriately starts with event No. 1, the $10,000 buy-in pot-limit hold’em championship.

The $10,000 buy-in main event is scheduled to premiere on Sept. 2 from 8p.m.-10 p.m. ET and will continue airing on Tuesday nights from Sept. 9 to Oct. 28, but at 9-11 p.m. ET. ESPN will show the action all the way down to the final table of nine. On Nov. 4 at 8 p.m.-10 p.m., a final-table preview show will air.

This is the first year that no one will know the results of the main event months before the airing of the episode. In May, ESPN and Harrah’s Entertainment announced that the main event will not conclude on July 16 as originally scheduled, but instead, after taking nearly a four-month break, the final table will reconvene Nov. 9. The remaining nine players will play down to heads up. On Nov. 10, the final two players will play for the more than $9.1 million first-place prize and a permanent place in poker history as a WSOP champion. Television audiences will be reintroduced to the final nine on Nov. 11, when the final table episode airs from 9 p.m.-11 p.m. ET.

The following is the schedule of premieres:

I agree. You must know how to copy and paste or enter more than 10 chipleaders in the wsop! It is really annoying to have to go to www.worldseriesofpoker.com to get the live updates and chipcounts

It sucks that they have so many episodes of the "Main Event" when most real players can't even consider it a main event. The $50000 buy in HORSE event is by far a much more prestigious event. Unfortunately ESPN feels the viewing public wants to see a satellite circus instead.

HI, Just wanted to mention that I would love to have the chip count for ALL the players still in....not just the "stars" of poker. Where could I find this information. Thanks

The "break" is a awful idea, and I feel for the players
