Tirza Sanders Adds Another Massive Ladies Event Title With Venetian High Roller Triumph

Reigning WPT World Championship Ladies Event Winner Takes Down $2,500 Buy-In At Venetian For $67,846

Tirza Sanders wins ladies poker tournament at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas.

Tirza Sanders took down her second major ladies event title on Tuesday, June 24. The Arizona resident came out on top of a field of 117 entries in the Venetian DeepStack Championship Ladies International Poker Series (LIPS) $2,500 high roller, earning $67,846 for the win.

In December of 2024 Sanders emerged victorious in the World Poker Tour World Championship $1,100 no-limit hold’em ladies championship for $90,432.  Thanks in large part to these two huge wins, she now has nearly $200,000 in recorded scores to her name.

The strong turnout for this no-limit hold’em event saw the $100,000 guarantee easily surpassed, with $257,400 in total prize money awarded in the end.

The final seven players were featured on Venetian Poker Live, with Jacqueline Burkhart entering the last day as the chip leader and Sanders hot on her heels.

Monika Zukowicz ran pocket tens into the pocket aces of Isabelle Dang (7th – $8,592) to kickoff the eliminations. Dang then scored the next two knockouts to continue her early heater.

Action Heats Up For Final Four

Shamica Lamar ran KJ into the AK of Burkhart to finish fourth for $19,849. Unfortunately for Burkhart, her run ended in third place when her flopped flush with 87 ran into the J10 for a higher flush for Dang. The chips went in on the 942 flop, and after the 5 turn Burkhart was drawing dead. She earned $28,697 for her deep run after the 2 completed the board.

Heads-up play began with Dang holding more than a 2:1 chip advantage. The final two battled on for several more hours. Sanders was able to move in front ahead of the final hand, which began with her raising to 300,000 from the button with Q8. Dang just called with KK and the flop came down QJ6. A check from Dang saw Sanders bet 375,000. She received a call from Dang and the 8 turn gave Sanders queens up. Dang checked again and Sanders bet 600,000. This was met with a check-shove for 1,825,000 from Dang. Sanders called and the 5 rolled off on the end to see her close out the win.

Dang earned $43,251 as the runner-up.
