Shiina Okamoto’s dominant performance in the World Series of Poker ladies no-limit hold’em championship over the past three years is unlikely to be matched in poker history. The Japanese architect and poker player finished second in 2023. She then came back to win the whole thing in both 2024 and 2025. Her accomplishment is all the more impressive given that the average field size during her three-year run was just over 1,300 entries.
While Okamoto’s live tournament success so far has mostly been concentrated in the WSOP ladies event, she is starting to find more success on the global circuit recently. On July 23, she took down a $50,000 NTD ($1,687 USD) high roller at the Taiwan Millions Tournament 18 for her fourth recorded title. Okamoto beat out 32 entries to hoist the trophy, earning $16,425 as the last player standing.
In addition to this triumph and her pair of bracelet wins at the series, Okamoto also took down $1,110 buy-in at the Red Dragon Poker Tour Jeju stop last July for $64,564. She now has more than $877,000 in total earnings to her name, with the majority coming from her incredible streak at the WSOP.
The TMT 18 is running from July 10-28, with 68 trophy events and more than $1.8 million in guarantees when reckoned in USD, including the $1,000,000 guaranteed main event, which is currently ongoing.
