Midwest Championship: Bradley Mangune Leads 13 Remaining After Day 1A

The First Of 11 Starting Flights In The $600 Buy-in Event At The Reserve Poker Club In Ohio Drew 132 Entries

The first of 11 starting flights is in the books for the $1,000,000 guaranteed $600 no-limit hold’em Midwest Championship at The Reserve Poker Club, the largest poker club in the state of Ohio. The event spans from Sept. 18-28.

The Card Player Poker Tour event saw 132 entries made at the Toledo poker hotspot before registration came to a close on day 1A, which was held on Thursday, Sept. 18. That added $66,000 to the prize pool.

Play ended with 29:13 remaining in level 18, with 13 players bagging up and moving on to day 2 on Sept. 28. Bradley Mangune of Pontiac, Michigan is the leader in the clubhouse. He bagged up 1,220,000, which was good for over 76 big blinds when play came a close. He scored a knockout late with AQ besting the AK of an opponent with the chips going in preflop. Both players hit a pair of aces on the flop, but Mangune rivered aces and queens to win the pot and chip up over a million.

Christopher Moon was among the 13 that bagged. The bracelet winner from Sterling Heights, Michigan has more than $1.8 million in lifetime tournament cashes to his name.
