Michael Wang Headlines Recent Wynn Summer Classic Champions

While the World Series of Poker rightfully dominates the headlines during the summer, it is far from the only game in town.

A couple of miles up the Las Vegas Strip, the 2025 Wynn Summer Classic is running from May 21 – July 14 at Wynn Las Vegas, with more than $40,000,000 in guarantees to be paid out along the way. There are more than 90 events on the schedule, with the centerpiece being the $10,000,000 guaranteed $10,400 buy-in Summer Championship no-limit hold’em event slated for June 26-July 2.

Several sizable tournaments have wrapped up in the past week, including one with a seven-figure guaranteed prize pool. Below is a look at the results from those key events.

The $1,600 buy-in $2.5 million guaranteed no-limit hold’em event drew a field of 2,405 total entries to beat the guarantee by nearly $940,000. The event ran from June 9-13, with six starting flights and two more days of combined-field action.

Two-time WSOP bracelet winner and 2024 World Poker Tour Playground champion Michael Wang emerged victorious in the end, earning the trophy and the top prize of $555,528.

This was a new career-best for the longtime tournament fixture. It grew his career haul to more than $7.7 million, with 21 recorded titles and 470 in-the-money finishes.

Wang had plenty of stiff competition down the stretch, including the likes of Wynn Millions $3,000 buy-in event runner-up Cecile Ticherfatine (9th), 2020 WSOP Online main event champion Stoyan Madanzhiev (4th), and two-time bracelet winner Alexandre Reard (3rd).
