Cheng Hu Headlines Early Triton One Winners

The inaugural Triton One Series is nearly in the books. The first foray into more affordable stakes for the high roller fixture saw several big events play out at Landing Casino Jeju. The centerpiece of the whole affair was the $8,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event, which saw Joshua Gebissa outlast 1,04 entries to earn $975,225.

The marquee main event was hardly the only newsworthy result from Triton One’s debut festival, though. While results are still rolling in, here is a look at some of the winners from the rest of the tournaments that have already wrapped up at the emerging poker hot spot in South Korea.

$3,000 QQPK Genesis NLH

The festival kicked off in style with the $3,000 QQPK Genesis event. A field of 1,185 entries set a new record for Triton-branded events while building a prize pool of $3,174,614.

The top 190 finishers earned a share of that sum, with the largest chunk going to eventual champion Cheng Hu. The Chinese player secured the trophy and $564,000 for the win, a personal best live tournament result by leaps and bounds. He also secured 1,440 Card Player Player of the Year points with the victory.

Hu had plenty of stiff competition to contend with down the stretch, including bracelet winners Samuel Mullur (6th – $99,500) and Martin Nielsen (5th – $133,000). Germany’s Niklas Deitmer was the runner-up, earning $327,000 for his efforts.

$5,000 NLH One Night Eight Max

The next event was a $5,000 single-day affair that drew 48 entries. Doyle Lee emerged victorious, defeating Triton Jeju WPT Global Slam champion Anatoly Filatov heads-up to secure the title.

Lee earned $67,000 as the champion, while Filatov settled for $48,140.

Webster Lim finished fourth for $23,500. The three-time Triton champion is approaching $7.5 million in earnings on the tour.

$10,000 NLH Mystery Bounty Eight Max

Several female players ran deep in the $10,000 mystery bounty event, including Ebony Kenney (9th –  $25,000 and $35,000 in bounties), five-time bracelet winner Kristen Foxen (3rd – $116,000 and $90,000 in bounties), and Thi Xoa Nguyen (2nd – $155,000 and $40,000 in bounties).

In the end, Xiaqing Ji was the last player standing. He secured the trophy, the $245,000 top prize, and $110,000 in bounty payouts. The Chinese player now has more than $817,000 in career cashes to his name.

Foxen now has $12.6 million in career cashes, extending her advantage on top of the women’s all-time money list. Second-ranked Vanessa Selbst has nearly $10.9 million, but has been retired from professional poker for more than seven years now.

$5,000 NLH Bounty Quattro

Johan Schultz-Pedersen outlasted a field of 89 entries in the $5,000 bounty quattro to earn $100,500 in total prize money, including $22,500 in bounty payouts.

The Danish player now adds a Triton trident to his trophy collection that already includes a World Series of Poker bracelet won via the 2024 WSOPO Colossus event.

2025 Wynn Summer Classic main event runner-up Jun Obara also placed second in this tournament, earning $63,400 in total prize money.
