Sudhakara Kattamuri has won the first annual T.J. Cloutier Choctaw Casino Poker Classic.
The Irving, Texas-native was one of 191 entrants who came out to the Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma on September 25. The $1,500 buy-in event created a prize pool of $281,248. Among those participating in the event were pros Scotty Nguyen, Young Pham and Tom McEvoy. Kattamuri took down the event for $73,127.
Choctaw Casino Resort will also be the site of a World Series of Poker Circuit Event from January 6 through January 25, 2011. It will be the first time an WSOP event in America is not held in a Harrah’s property. The event will feature 54 different tournaments, including ten ring events.
