French poker players are planning another organized sit out at two of the countries largest recently licenced poker rooms, PokerStars.fr and Winamax.fr, in protest at rake charges.
Cash game rake on the sites has increase to as much as 7.7 percent since the government’s recent regulation which imposed a 2 percent tax on rake which appears to have been passed on to the players.
Players have, on at least one occasion so far, voted with their feet and joined up to 24 cash games each on the site but sat out in protest at the increased charges and this Sunday sees another organized sit out between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Many players plan on taking their action to sites which offer rakeback deals.
Sites recently issued online poker licences in France also include bwin and PartyPoker.
