Latin American Poker Tour -- Costa Rica Stop Begins Today

The Third Season of the PokerStars Latin American Poker Tour Begins in Playa Conchal

Humberto BrenesThe third season of the PokerStars Latin American Poker Tour began Thursday, Nov. 19 at the Paradisius Playa Conchal Resort in Costa Rica. The $2,500 no-limit hold’em main event will feature four days of competition, and it will crown a champion on Sunday, Nov. 22. The player cap is set at 350 players for this event, and it looks like the unofficial number of players who have entered is 259 (official numbers have not been released as of press time). Big names who entered the event include Team PokerStars Pro members Humberto Brenes (pictured right), Alexandre Gomes, Victor Ramdin, and Andre Akkari.

Side action at the LAPT Costa Rica event will include a $1,000 no-limit hold’em tournament that begins on Saturday, Nov. 21 at noon, and a $10,000 high-roller single-table challenge that will start at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
