Gavin Smith Wins FTOPS Event

Smith Pockets $123,600 For Win

The Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) is now in its twelfth run, but so far Team Full Tilt has been relatively quiet when it comes to collecting wins of their own. In fact, up until this weekend, only Erick Lindgren had ever claimed a victory for the men in red, winning the event he hosted during FTOPS VII for over $291,000.

On Saturday night, Gavin Smith made it a two-man club by taking down event No. 7, a $100 rebuy tournament that drew in a field of 1,807 players and generated a total prize pool of $600,000. Smith received the lion’s share of the prize pool for a $123,600 payday.

Smith came out on top of some stiff competition at the final three tables that included Corey “Comandr_Cool” Burbick, David “Bussa Buss” Baker and Tyler “TBaller247” Netter. Smith bested UW14 headsup for the win.

Though his online results are minimal, Smith has earned over $4.5 million since he began playing poker in the late 1990s.
