Aaron '011180' KanterThe PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) events are now in full swing. The SCOOP is a 22-tournament series spread out over 11 days of action. Each tournament is offered with three different sets of buy-ins ranging from low, to mid, to high stakes. Buy-ins are offered for as little as $5.50 and can be as high as $25,500. Make sure you check out the full schedule of events.

Event No. 7 — H.O.R.S.E.

The addition of the SCOOP series somewhat disrupted the regular Sunday schedule on PokerStars. The first event of the day featured mixed games in the form of H.O.R.S.E. tournaments, the smallest of which featured a $100 buy-in. Aaron “011180” Kanter (pictured right) got heads up, but fell just short of the title to tomacampi, who won $43,452.

One of the higher middle-stakes tournaments of the series, the $1,000 buy-in tournament failed to meet its guarantee of $500,000, attracting only 444 entrants. ramonieye benifitted the most from the $56,000 overlay, scoring $95,000 for his victory. Jonas “Tulkaz” Klausen made a run at the win, as well, finishing in third place.

With a  $10,000 buy-in, the high-stakes H.O.R.S.E. tournament was the largest of the series to date. A total of 80 players entered and approximately 12 hours after it began, Wrasse emerged as the winner. For his accomplishment, he earned $260,000. Also at the final table were notables Josh “nitbuster” Arieh (fifth), Alexander “skalexjung” Jung (fourth), and Fabrizio “SixthSenSe19” Gonzalez (second).

Event No. 8 — No-Limit Hold’em (Two-Day Event)

Chip Leader Alex 'hadouk3n' MelnikowAll three of the no-limit hold’em events were paused last night sometime after each field made the money. The low, $30 buy-in tournament drew in a massive field of 20,353, leaving $54,953 for the winner. Notables Devin “tobias fuke” Porter (13th) and scarface0928 (first) are still alive among the 25 remaining players.

In the mid-stakes tourney with a $300 buy-in, 6,274 players entered, creating a total prize pool of $1,882,200. First place is scheduled to receive $286,282, and one of the remaining 43 players will claim it some time this evening. Among the notables still in contention are KipsterDK (36th), David “malicous222” Randall (28th), Peter “iteopepe88” Gelencser (14th), Evan “PURPLE”K”99” Parkes (13th), and Matt “hymo1234” Hyman (second).

The high-stakes $3,000 buy-in tournament drew in 915 entrants, just missing out on its $3 million guarantee. The field was stacked with pros from every level and the virtual rail buzzed about all the action. Still in contention for the $550,500 first place prize is David “WhoooooKidd” Baker (33rd), Daniel “KidPoker” Negreanu (32nd), Tommy “skier_5” Pavlicek (31st), Russell “rdcrsn” Carson (27th), Ray “Exitonly4” Coburn (25th), Zachary “nofingclue11” Clark (24th), Noah “fouruhaters” Schwartz (20th), Matt “plattsburgh” Vengrin (15th), Alex “mahoney3” Todd (12th), Blake “Balla-B13” Cahail (10th), Tim “timkrank” Miles (ninth), Jamie “pokerjamers” Armstrong (eighth), Justin “Boosted J” Smith (seventh), Glen “Choron” Chorny (second), and Alex “hadouk3n” Melnikow (first, pictured above left).

Negreanu had a massive stack at one point but lost a huge pot thanks to a mis-click. You can read about it at his blog right here on CardPlayer.com.

Each tournament will resume at 4:30 p.m. EST and play down to a champion.
