Team PokerStars Pro has added two more players to the fold — Peter Eastgate and Ivan Demidov.
Eastgate, became a well-known name in the poker community after he rose to the top at the World Series of Poker main event to become the youngest ever WSOP main event champion at the age of 22. This was a record previously held by poker king Phil Hellmuth, which was achieved at the slightly older age of 24.
Since his win, the Dane has proven that he is no one-hit-wonder by hitting the international tournament scene with gusto and taking down the $5,000 side event at the 2009 PokerStars.com Caribbean Adventure. Without mentioning his widely respected online achievements, Eastgate has live tournament earnings of more than $9,700,000.
Ivan Demidov, is another important addition to PokerStars as this 27-year-old Russian has also shown that he is a force to be reckoned with on the international felt. He finished runner-up to Eastgate for $ 5,809,595, but only after he came third at the WSOP Europe for $608,995 — the first player ever to make to WSOP main event final tables.
The two youngsters who had previously represented PokerStars.com have now been upgraded to join a jaw-dropping list of stars who make up Team PokerStars Pro, including Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer, Joe Hachem, and Daniel Negreanu.
Commenting on the two final tablists at the WSOP event, Negreanu said, “I’ve played against Ivan at the WSOPE and also watched them both closely throughout the WSOP final table — both players represent the young new rising poker talent emerging in Europe and they’re a great addition to the team.”
Johnny Lodden was the most recent player to join, and with him, the ever expanding team got its first Norwegian player.
