Top Ten Continues To Shift

Adam 'Roothlus' LevyThe PokerStars SCOOP is just around the corner, but that hasn’t stopped many of the online world’s best for making the early push up the leaderboard for Card Player’s Online Player of the Year race.

You can click on the links to read about this week’s Sunday Majors and the $1K Roundup.

It was a quiet week for the OPOY leader Steve "gboro780" Gross, who cashed in one qualifying tournament for just eight points. Nevertheless, he still holds a slim lead over second place.

Just 144 points behind Gross is Adam "Roothlus" Levy (pictured left), who vaulted up the leaderboard thanks to his second place finish in the $5,000 FTOPS event. That score netted Levy $387,500 and 1,000 points. A week later, Levy final tabled both the Sunday Warmup and the Ultimate Bet $200,000 Guarantee.

Chris "Moorman1" Moorman has been one of the more consistent players this year, picking up points without the benefit of a monster win any series or Sunday Major. Moorman has 12 final tables on the year, including two wins in the Full Tilt $65,000 Guarantee and the PokerStars Daily $100 with Rebuys.

In fourth place is Scott "stpauli111" Hall, who had been relatively quiet since claiming the top spot in the rankings nearly one month ago. This week, Hall went deep in the Sunday Mulligan and final tabled the Full Tilt $100,000 Guarantee with rebuys.

Adam "csimmsux" Geyer sits in fifth place thanks to his third FTOPS victory, banking 2,160 points and $456,057 for winning the Main Event. Geyer became the second player to win three FTOPS, after Yuval "yuvee04" Bronshtein took down two in the same day back in August.

Mohsin "chicagocards1" Charania is back in the top ten courtesy of a victory in the Absolute Poker $150,000 Guarantee for $41,075. He is just 76 points away from the top five.

Aditya 'Intervention' AgarwalIt was another solid week for Dan "Wretchy" Martin, who finished runner up in one of PokerStars $100 rebuys for $26,612. His 2,396 points are enough for seventh place in the rankings.

After falling out of the top ten, Aditya "Intervention" Agarwal (pictured right) jumped back into eighth place thanks to a third place finish in Absolute Poker’s $150,000 Guarantee. That score brought his 2009 winning total to $215,738.

It was a great week for ninth place resident Jonathan "xxjondxx" Delong, who made two final tables and won the PokerStars Super Tuesday for $74,685. He also has a win in the Sunday Second Chance for $59,786.

Unknown player xx BabyGrand xx has cracked the top ten courtesy of a final table finish in the Wednesday Quarter Million. This player also has wins in the PokerStars $55 rebuy, the $100 rebuy and the Full Tilt $90,000 Guarantee.

Sitting just outside the top ten this week are Tommy "ship hamilton" Nguyen, Shawn "jordankickz" Busse and Chris "Universe112" Leveroni.
