Scotty Nguyen Wins the HORSE Event and Jeff Madsen Takes Down a No-Limit Hold'em Preliminary


The major highlights of this week during the preliminary events at the L.A. Poker Classic hosted at Commerce Casino inlcuded some big buy-in events. The $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. event was the marquee tournament, and it was won by Scotty Nguyen, who took home the top prize and another major H.O.R.S.E. title. Frank Kassela won the $5,000 pot-limit Omaha rebuy event, defeating a field of 50 players who purchased 36 rebuys. Other highlights included preliminary wins by Frankie O’Dell ($1,000 H.O.R.S.E.) and Jeff Madsen ($1,000 no-limit hold’em). Here is a look at the full results from the week:
