PartyPoker.com today announced that Norwegian sensation Annette Obrestad and English maverick Roland De Wolfe are the latest stars to sign up for the PartyPoker.com Premier League III. They join American J.C. Tran and Finn Juha Helppi and last year’s champion Andy Black at the for the $75,000
buy-in TV event from Nov. 23 to 30.
The innovative league format TV tournament sees 12 of the world’s best poker players for a total prize pool of $1.25 million of which $350,000 is added by the sponsor.
Matchroom Sport devised the unique format which sees the 12 players play six times in the league before the top four progress to the final table and the four runners up playing heads up for the remaining two places.
Obrestad, who is the day 1a chip leader at the European Poker Tour Budapest said: ““The Premier League is a poker event that I am extremely excited about. It has a good structure, the best players from around the world and amazing prize money. I’m looking forward to the games, the rivalry and of course winning!”
Meanwhile Roland De Wolfe said, "I’m going to come back and put on a show. The Premier League to me is one of the best events in poker. Last time I out I played the best and will get the win I deserve this time around.”
