Suede Brooks shined brightest over the weekend on the Celebrity Poker Tour’s Game Night VI, emerging as champion after dominating a heads-up match against former major league baseball star Jose Canseco.
Brooks is a 24-year-old model and social media personality who was rumored to be romantically involved with hip hop superstar Drake a few years ago. The popular influencer, who has 1.7 million followers on Instagram and another 1.2 million on TikTok, took home $10,000 for her efforts inside the PokerGO Studio on Friday. Her aggression against Canseco was particularly effective, including a hand late in the heads-up match in which she got Canseco to fold the best hand – the lower end of a full house on a double paired board – amidst some wild action.

With her victory, Brooks became the latest in a notable trend in Celebrity Poker Tour action. She’s the seventh woman to win a CPT
title in 11 total events, joining the likes of Maria Ho (twice), Princess Love, and Lena Ayad, among others.
At CPT Game Night VI, Brooks was one of five women in the field along with Josie Canseco (Jose’s daughter), chess star Alex Botez, UFC fighter Mackenzie Dern, and Hailey Welch (‘Hawk Tuah Girl’ for those who might not recognize her given name). Friday’s CPT appearance drew considerable attention as Welch’s first public appearance after months out of the spotlight.
The field for CPT Game Night VI was rounded out by future NFL Hall of Famer Adrian Peterson, Zach Justice, CJ So Cool, and Trent Attyah.
Losing Friday’s heads-up match was far from the most traumatic experience that Jose Canseco has had at the poker table in his life. Back in 2014, Canseco went viral for allegedly having part of his finger fall off while playing a poker tournament.
By virtue of her victory, Brooks will return on May 10 to defend her title on the next live-streamed event on the Celebrity Poker Tour.
