The no-limit hold’em portion of the 2025 Triton Poker Jeju series is in the books, which leaves four high-stakes pot-limit Omaha events and a trio of similarly expensive short deck events left on the agenda.

The first PLO tournament of that slate attracted 117 entries at $25,000 each, resulting in a prize pool of $2,925,000. In the end, 64-year-old Norwegian Tom-Aksel Bedell emerged victorious with his first Triton trophy and a career-best payday of $709,000.

This was the second major PLO title of the year for Bedell, who also took down a €10,300 buy-in event in the discipline at the PLO Grand Slam Tirana in Albania back in January. Both scores came with 840 Card Player Player of the Year points, which is collectively enough to place Bedell in 25th position in the 2025 POY race standings presented by Global Poker.

Bedell now has more than $4.7 million in career tournament earnings to his name, with his three largest paydays all coming in PLO events.

The top 19 finishers made the money in this tournament, with six-figure payouts for the final seven. Big names that ran deep included Jeremy Ausmus (12th), Seth Davies (11th), Jose ‘Nacho’ Barbero (9th), and Erik Seidel (7th). The 10-time bracelet winner fell one spot shy of the official six-handed final table.

Phil Ivey11-time bracelet winner and five-time Triton champion Phil Ivey scored the first knockout at the final table, busting Lin Wei in sixth place ($166,000). Ivey was ultimately the next to fall, though, with his double-suited pocket kings running into the single-suited pocket aces of Shi Ning Dan. Ivey earned $213,000 for his fifth-place showing, growing his career earnings to $48.1 million in the process.

Eelis Parssinen was the next to fall, with his top pair and wrap draw facing the middle pair, flush draw, and open-ended straight draw of Bedell. The river completed Bedell’s flush and Parssinen settled for $264,000 as the fourth-place finisher.

Richard Gryko soon followed, with his ASpade SuitKHeart SuitJDiamond Suit5Diamond Suit unable to beat out the 7Heart Suit7Club Suit6Heart Suit4Spade Suit of Bedell in a battle of the blinds. Bedell made a seven-high straight to win the pot and take a massive chip lead into heads-up play. Gryko earned $320,000 for his podium showing.

Bedell was able to convert his sizable chip advantage into the title after not too long, making a seven-high straight again to best the flopped set of sixes of Shi (2nd – $486,000).
