Big Poker Oktober at the Bike Attracting Big Numbers

$2,600 Championship Event Starts Saturday

Event No. 12 of the Big Poker Oktober series that's taking place now at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles has attracted enough players to build a prize pool of more than $230,000 thanks to the 348 entrants who bought in for $300 apiece and rebought 479 times.

Raymond Voskanian won the event and its $96,492 top prize.

The Big Oktober series always attracts plenty of players thanks to a great location (Los Angeles) and a schedule packed full of events with buy-ins that mostly range from $225 to $500 (the main event is $2,600, and a $1,070 event is scheduled).

For example, the first event of the series, which was a $225 no-limit event that took place Sept. 25, attracted 405 entrants, generated a prize pool of more than $78,000, and awarded more than $28,000 to the winner. Not a bad return on investment for a single, middle-level buy-in event.

Some of the players who have been spotted playing in the Big Oktober events include Eskimo Clark, Tommy Vu, Tommy Wang, and Dao Bac.

A $1,070 no-limit event starts tomorrow, and $290 mega-satellites for Saturday's $2,600 main event start Friday. Click here to view the entire schedule.
