The World Series of Poker Europe series continued to roll on Thursday in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, where Simone Andrian topped a field of 535 players in the €1,650 buy-in six-max no-limit hold’em event to earn his first career bracelet and the $177,650 first-place prize.

This was by far the largest score of Andrian’s career, who previously cashed for just over $4,000 in a Euro Poker Million event last month.

Andrian was the second Italian to win an event at this year’s series, joining Anontello Ferraiuolo who took down the opener. It was the 12th overall bracelet for Italy. Max Pescatori leads his fellow countrymen with four titles.

The final table started with local player Josef Snejberg taking the lead from two-time World Poker Tour champion Tony Tran. Although he had began the day with the most chips, Tran was actually the first casualty, busting in sixth place for $25,099.

Andrian picked up some momentum when he eliminated Jan Bednar in fifth, and he took a commanding lead into heads-up play after busting Norbert Baumgartner in third.

Snejberg was able to close the gap a bit, but ultimately found himself all in holding AClub Suit 4Heart Suit and dominated by Andrian’s ASpade Suit JDiamond Suit.

The dealer produced a board of 10Diamond Suit 7Club Suit 2Club Suit QHeart Suit 9Spade Suit, and Snejberg was eliminated, giving the victory and the gold bracelet to Andrian.

Other notables who made a deep run included Lars Kamphues (19th), Sonny Franco (15th), Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier (14th), and Julien Sitbon (11th).
