A total of 99 players entered day 1 of the Card Player Poker Tour Venetian main event, part of the DeepStack Extravaganza Poker Series.
While those numbers currently fall shy of the $500,000 guarantee, there is still plenty of time for players to buy-in to this $3,500 event, with registration open until the end of level 13 (about 5:15 pm Sunday afternoon) on day 2. Anyone entering day 2 when play begins at 1 p.m. will start with 40,000 in chips, which is worth 40 big blinds.
Leading the 52 players who bagged up a stack on day 1 was New York’s Michael Rossitto, who finished with 216,700. Rossitto is coming off a preliminary event win at the recent Five Diamond World Poker Classic for $36,172, with his largest score coming at the 2018 Borgata Summer Poker Open for $143,730.

Other notables who advanced included Anuj Agarwal, Steve Sung, Tony Dunst, Jordan Cristos, Faraz Jaka, Kahle Burns, Ben Palmer, Martin Zamani, and last year’s runner-up finisher, Joe Kuether.
