Maryland’s five casinos won $92 million from gamblers during the month of November, according to the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency. The amount was a 2.5-percent increase compared to November 2015.
Maryland Live! Casino led the way with $50.2 million of the state total. Horseshoe Casino Baltimore had $28.5 million, followed by Hollywood Casino Perryville ($5.6 million), Casino at Ocean Downs ($3.8 million) and Rocky Gap Casino Resort ($3.8 million).
Slot machines accounted for $59.3 million of the state total, while table games generated $32.6 million. Poker represented $2.67 million of the table games figure.
Through the first 11 months of 2016, Maryland casinos won $1.07 billion from gamblers. In all of 2015, the casinos won $1.1 billion.
Maryland will see its sixth casino, the $1.4 billion MGM National Harbor, open Thursday evening. The casino will add thousands of slots and table games to the state’s market.
While Maryland’s overall casino gambling market has been growing leading up to MGM National Harbor’s opening, the state’s poker market has not. Through the first 11 months of this year, the state’s three poker rooms raked $31.5 million, down from the $32.6 million in revenue from the same period in 2015.
MGM National Harbor will have a 39-table room.
