A casino in eastern Germany was evacuated Tuesday after an employee heard mechanical noises coming from a trash can in the men’s bathroom and law enforcement quickly took it as a potential bomb. It turned out to be a vibrating penis ring.
The news was first reported by thelocal.de. According to the English-language German news outlet, 90 people, including those in nearby businesses and shops, were evacuated as the bomb squad was called in. The road leading to the casino was also closed for a period of time during the terror threat investigation.
It’s unclear who put the sex toy in the trash at the Halberstadt casino, but trouble could be waiting for them. “Whoever deposited the object intentionally there isn’t yet known”, police said. There’s a criminal investigation underway to find the person, which means that the owner of the penis ring is likely going to suffer a bad beat and see their name made public.
The situation was perhaps the first high-profile evacuation of a German casino since poker players and casino staff were forced out of a Berlin hotel during a 2010 EPT stop. In that situation, four armed men stormed into the tournament registration area.
