Jonas Kronwitter Crowned PGT PLO Series Champion

Austrian Wins Two Titles, Accumulates $576,088 Across Five Cashes During Eight-Event Festival

Jonas Kronwitter has officially come out on top in the final 2026 PGT PLO Series standings. The Austrian poker pro made the money in five of the eight events, winning two titles and cashing for a total of $576,088 along the way. With 598 PGT points across those deep runs, he secured series champion honors, along with a $10,000 PGT Passport towards future buy-ins on the high-stakes-centric poker tour.

This cashing spree inside the PokerGO Studio saw the pot-limit Omaha specialist increase his recorded tournament earnings to over $4.5 million.

Prior to this festival, Kronwitter had not logged a PGT-qualified score. Now, he sits inside the top 70 in the season-long standings. He also climbed to 160th in the Card Player Player of the Year race, presented by CoinPoker.

Kronwitter’s Road To Victory

Kronwitter kicked off the festival with a runner-up showing in the first of two $5,300 buy-in offerings. He earned $79,625 as the second-place finisher, with Sam Soverel taking home the title. Like Kronwitter, Soverel ultimately took down two events at this stop. Soverel was an all-or-nothing player this week, as his two victories were his only cashes recorded. His 376 points accrued with those two triumphs placed him second in the final standings.

The next three events on the schedule saw Kronwitter log two ninth-place finishes, adding $27,300 in earnings to his total haul.

The back half of the series began with a bang for Kronwitter, who emerged victorious from a field of 63 entries in event no. 5, a $10,500 buy-in affair. He defeated Richard Gryko heads-up in that tournament to earn his first career PGT title, $201,600, and 202 PGT points.

Just two days after that win, Kronwitter came out on top in event no. 7 for an ever larger payday. He outlasted 65 entries in that $15,700 buy-in, striking a heads-up deal with Joni Jouhkimainen that saw him secure the title and the top prize of $267,563. Kronwitter was well out in front when the agreement was made, with roughly a 3:1 chip advantage over his lone remaining opponent.

The 234 PGT points that came with that victory brought Kronwitter’s total to 598, which was ultimately sufficient to lock up series champion honors. He finished with a 222-point margin over second-ranked Soverel.

Cesar Garcia, who won the $26,000 finale for $420,000, finished third in the points race. He cashed twice during the series, with a fifth-place finish in the second event to go with his triumph in the closer.

Lautaro Guerra finished fourth. The Spanish pro now has more than $11.8 million in PLO scores, the second-most of any player in poker history. Only Eelis Parssinen has cashed for more in the game, with over $12.1 million in recorded earnings.

Robert Cowen, who finished second to Garcia in the finale, rounds out the top five.
