Former NFL Player Arrested For Allegedly Running An ‘Illegal Gambling House’

Reche Caldwell Busted With A Handful Of Others

The Tampa Bay Tribune reported that former local football star and ex-NFL player Donald “Reche” Caldwell was arrested Sunday for allegedly running an illegal gambling operation in Tampa, Florida.

The 34-year-old Caldwell played wide receiver at the University of Florida, before going to the NFL and playing with several teams — the New England Patriots, the Washington Redskins and the San Deigo Chargers. He played professionally for six years.

Caldwell was arrested with a handful of other individuals on the charges of running an “illegal gambling house” and bookmaking. The arrests came after Tampa police executed a search warrant at the residence.

Caldwell and others were released from the Hillsborough County Jail after paying $4,000 bond.

In addition to cash, two handguns and about one gram of MDMA were seized during the search, police reportedly said.
