After a small increase in February, the Nevada casino industry saw a major gain in March, continuing to bounce back from poor numbers in January.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board reported that casinos across the state reported $1.43 billion in gaming revenue for the month of March, an 11.8% increase over the $1.28 billion from the same month in 2025.

For the fiscal year so far (July 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026), gaming revenue is up year-over-year almost 2%.

Clark County Sees Positive Numbers

Solid numbers from Clark County, home to Las Vegas, helped pave the way for the improved revenue picture. The county saw revenue climb 12.7% to $1.25 billion.

The Las Vegas Strip was a massive part of that, with numbers rising 14.4% to almost $780 million from $681.6 million in March 2025. Major gains on baccarat certainly helped, with the game growing 108% to $152.5 million. The game attracts high-stakes players and regularly swings the fortune of Strip casino revenue each month.

Overall, table game revenue on the Strip grew 34.2% to $51.7 million. Slot machine numbers were up 2.1% to $428.3 million.

The overall Strip picture fell in line with rising visitor numbers, buoyed by double-digit convention attendance. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority reported that visitor volume increased 1.9% to 3.5 million, while convention attendance surged 33.4% to 712,000.

It will be interesting to see if the city’s casino revenue recovery continues as the summer travel season gets underway in the coming months, including the World Series of Poker scheduled on the Strip and running from late May through mid-July.

Other parts of Clark County also saw increases. Downtown revenue rose 20.8% to $103.1 million from $85.4 million in March 2025. The Boulder Strip was up 14.7% to $98.9 million, while Laughlin numbers climbed 1.1% to $50.5 million. Mesquite reached $19.6 million, up 1.4%, with North Las Vegas showing the smallest amount of growth in the county at 0.1% to $50.5 million.

State Tax Revenue Up 17%

Other areas of Nevada saw mostly positive gains as well. Reno revenue grew 7.5% to $62 million and South Lake Tahoe was up 19.7% to $17.6 million. Sparks jumped 8.7%, while North Lake Tahoe was the only city in this region seeing a decline, falling 9.7% to $1.4 million.

In Elko County, casino revenue dropped 4.7% to $35.3 million. The Carson Valley area saw revenue move up 5.3% to $12.2 million.

The state collected $93 million in taxes for the month, a 17.2% increase from March 2025.
