Punnat Punsri’s time as the sole occupant of the second-place spot on the Triton Super High Roller Series titles leaderboard was short lived. Just four days after Punsri took down the $30,000 pot-limit Omaha / no-limit hold’em event at the 2026 Triton stop in Jeju for his sixth trident trophy, Matthias Eibinger emerged victorious in the $100,000 buy-in PLO main event to join him at that total.
The two elite tournament pros now trail only 12-time Triton champion Jason Koon in the high-stakes tour’s title race.
Eibinger’s latest triumph saw him outlast 65 entries in the six-figure PLO affair to secure the hardware and $1,787,000. This was the second-largest score of the Austrian poker pro’s career. His top payday remains the nearly $3.5 million that came with a win in the 2023 Triton Monte Carlo $132,500 no-limit hold’em main event. The 33-year-old now boasts nearly $33.2 million in career cashes, with roughly $19.4 million of that coming from his 37 in-the-money finishes in Triton events.
A Rising PLO Star?
While he’s been a fixture at the nosebleed stakes for NLH tournaments for years, Eibinger is new to PLO. He took a shot at the game late last year, and quickly took down a World Series of Poker Paradise Triton $75,000 PLO title for $1.6 million, his first bracelet, and fifth trident trophy. Eibinger is now on a PLO run in Jeju, with a fifth-place finish in the $30,000 PLO/NLH event and a runner-up finish in the $50,000 mystery bounty PLO tournament to go with this win.
“The main motivation for playing PLO is that I want to compete, I want more titles. It’s just motivating me and it keeps me sharp,” said Eibinger. “I started in December, first PLO tournament, first victory, and then two days ago I’m second, and now I win it again. It’s just unreal what’s happening.”
This win came with 720 Card Player Player of the Year points. It was his second triumph so far in 2026, having also won a $50,000 NLH event at the Onyx Super High Roller Series. With two titles and five final-table finishes so far, he has climbed to sixth place in this year’s POY standings presented by CoinPoker.
Thinning The Field
The solid turnout to LES A Casino in South Korea for this event made for a final prize pool of $6,500,000. The top 11 finishers all earned a share, with recent PLO mystery bounty champion Artur Martirosian eliminated on the $163,000 money bubble. Big names like David Wang (11th), Punsri (10th), Ben Lamb (9th), and Isaac Haxton (8th) soon followed Martirosian to the rail.
Eibinger was well out in front among the final seven who bagged up at the end of day 2, with twice as many chips as second-ranked Patrik Antonius. Nino Pansier, who had made three final tables and earned one title already in 2026, was the first to fall. He was dispatched in seventh place, earning $312,000 for his fourth POY-qualified score so far this year. He’s now ranked 24th in the overall standings.
Finland’s Eelis Parssinen got the last of his stack in preflop with A♠A♦7♠2♦ facing the A♣K♦10♦6♣ of Richard Gryko. The flop came down K♣7♦2♠ to give Gryko top pair of kings, but Parssinen’s side cards made two pair. Gryko was in rough shape, at least until the K♥ turn flipped the hand on its head. With trips, Gryko now had a stranglehold on the hand. The river K♠ improved him to quads, ending Parssinen’s run in sixth place ($396,000).
Setting The Heads-Up Showdown
Antonius’s run in this event came to a close in fifth place when his J♦10♦8♣7♥ was unable to beat out the A♣K♦5♠3♠ of Germany’s Klemens Roiter after the chips went in on a 7♣6♣3♦ flop. The Q♦ turn and K♥ river gave Roiter kings up for the win. Antonius settled for $507,000. The Poker Hall of Famer now has nearly $32.7 million in recorded tournament scores to his name.

Three-time Triton champion Daniel Dvoress was then eliminated in fourth place when his A♠A♦Q♣9♦ was outrun by the K♦Q♦Q♥8♥ of a surging Roiter, who turned queens full and held from there. Dvoress walked with $640,000. The Canadian high-stakes crusher grew his lifetime haul to more than $54.1 million with this latest deep run.
Roiter entered three-handed action with the chip lead after that, but soon lost a big clash with Gryko to see the top spot change hands. There were plenty more swings from there, but it was ultimately Roiter who fell in third place ($833,000). The bracelet winner’s last chips went in after a flop of K♥K♦3♦ with 10♦8♦8♥7♦ after he had defended his big blind. Gryko had flopped trips with K♠8♣2♠2♥ after raising from the small blind. The A♥ turn and 2♣ river made it a full house for Gryko. Roiter climbed to fifth in the POY race thanks to this result, which was his seventh final-table showing of 2026.
Closing Out The Win
Heads-up play began with Gryko holding 39 big blinds to Eibinger’s 16. The gap expanded in the early going, but Eibinger found two double-ups in quick succession to essentially level the playing field.
The two soon squared off in another big pot, with the chips going in on a Q♦9♦5♠ flop. It was 9♥6♠5♣3♦ for Eibinger for nines and fives, while Gryko held 8♣6♦5♦4♦ for a flush draw and bottom pair. The 2♠ turn and 6♣ river gave Eibinger nines and sixes for the win. With that, he took more than a 2.5:1 lead.
The final hand of the tournament began with a button limp from Eibinger, who held Q♣8♥4♠4♦. Gryko checked his option from the big blind with 7♣6♠5♣2♠ and the flop came down 8♣7♦4♣. Gryko checked his flopped straight and Eibinger checked behind with bottom set. The 3♠ turn saw Gryko fire 800,000. Eibinger called and the 3♥ paired the board on the end. Gryko bet 2,800,000 and Eibinger raised all-in for 9,400,000. Gryko called with his straight and was knocked out in second place ($1,270,000). This was a new top score for the bracelet winner from the UK.
