The 2026 PokerStars Open Paris €1,650 no-limit hold’em main event drew a 2,992-entry turnout, making for a prize pool of $5,080,129. After six starting flights and three more days of combined-field action inside the Palais des Congres de Paris in the French capital, Patrik Demus emerged victorious with the title and the top prize of $650,286.
This was by far the largest score yet for the Hungarian, easily surpassing the $170,000 he earned for a fifth-place showing in a $15,000 event at last year’s The Lord Poker Tournament in South Korea. He now boasts lifetime earnings in excess of $1.1 million.
Demus also earned 1,200 Card Player Player of the Year points for the win, enough to move him into 20th place in the 2026 POY standings presented by CoinPoker.
Closing Out The Win
The top 448 entries all earned a share of the multi-million-dollar prize pool. Plenty of big names ultimately ran deep, including Eugene Katchalov (21st), Boris Angelov (20th), Brandon Wilson (18th), Simeon Spasov (12th), and Antoine Labat (8th).
The final day began with just six players still in contention. Sweden’s Adam Martinsson was out in front, with Demus in fourth chip position to start. French players Sebastien Seguin (6th – $132,797) and Benoit Grobocopatel (5th – $172,658) were among the early knockouts.
Despite starting the day on top, Martinsson was ultimately sent packing in fourth place ($224,460). Lulei Hu soon followed Martinsson to the rail, earning $291,826 after losing two big clashes with Demus.
Demus surged into the lead when he picked off a bluff from Enzo Nicolas heads-up, with the Frenchman attempting a move with a missed flush that was picked off by Demus’ pair of tens. Nicolas was eliminated shortly after that, earning $408,551 as the runner-up.
