Maurice Hawkins struck again at Horseshoe Tunica, winning his second World Series of Poker Circuit ring in less than a week. His victory in a single-day, $400 buy-in no-limit hold’em event earned Hawkins a record-extending 23rd WSOP Circuit ring, and he did it on his birthday.
One week ago, Hawkins earned $35,146 for winning the $400 buy-in, $150,000 guaranteed mini main event at Horseshoe Tunica. This time around, his win came in a $400 double stack event, as Hawkins outlasted a field of 127 to earn a $10,473 first-place payday. It also locked up casino champion honors in Tunica, which earned Hawkins a seat in the 2026 WSOP main event in July.
Hawkins’ most recent victory puts him three wins ahead of Ari Engel, who sits in second place with 20 WSOP Circuit rings. He took to X to celebrate his new record, and announce plans for his celebration.

Hawkins’ success at the table is undeniable, though even in his brightest moments, Hawkins remains a controversial figure. His issues with backers have been well documented, and Hawkins was even targeted in an attack at the table in late 2025.
Hawkins By The Numbers
Hawkins’ second win of the series in Tunica marks the fifth time he’s won multiple WSOP Circuit rings in a single month, and the fourth instance of multiple wins in a single series. His birthday victory in Hawkins’ fourth win at Horseshoe Tunica, tying it with his record of four wins at Harrah’s Cherokee for his most prolific stops.
As he barrels towards a 25-ring milestone, Hawkins has a couple of opportunities to match the best WSOP Circuit month of his career. In April 2016, Hawkins won three rings, with two victories at Horseshoe Council Bluffs and one at Harrah’s Cherokee. Action is already underway in North Carolina, with Hawkins likely to eye a fifth career win at Harrah’s Cherokee. February also includes WSOP Circuit stops in Baltimore and Indiana.
