The high-stakes heads-up pot-limit Omaha match between ‘Giselle54’ and ‘GucciNIKE’ has hit a new peak. After the two battled consistently at $300-$600 and $500-$1,000, they kicked it up a notch to $1,000-$2,000 with a $400 ante, the highest stakes available on CoinPoker.
Unsurprisingly, that resulted in a swing of mid-six-figures. It was GucciNIKE who came out on top to the tune of about a $600,000 win. GucciNIKE consistently took advantage of Giselle54’s aggression with big river calls to win huge pots.
Paired Board, No Blocker? No Problem For GucciNIKE
Playing just shy of 122 big blinds deep, Giselle54 raised to $6,000, GucciNIKE raised to $18,000, and Giselle54 called.
On the A♠Q♦10♣ flop, GucciNIKE continued with a small size of $11,010, and Giselle54 called. GucciNIKE bet again, for $29,146, on the 2♠, and Giselle54 called. The 2♣ paired the board and GucciNIKE checked. Giselle54 bet $75,506, and GucciNIKE called.
Giselle54 showed J♠10♥9♣8♠ for 10s and 2s, no good against the K♣K♦6♠5♦ of GucciNIKE for kings and 2s. GucciNIKE took the $268,126 pot.

Hand Analysis
Kings with a suit and two connected cards will almost always three-bet, and GucciNIKE correctly does so, getting called by a good single-suited rundown for Giselle54.
GucciNIKE flops nothing but nut blockers, but it’s a good board for their range. Continuing for a small size is best with the plan of triple-barreling on most clean runouts that don’t change the nuts.
Giselle54 flops a bad wrap, a pair, and a backdoor flush draw. It’s certainly enough to continue and wouldn’t be a crazy hand to raise as a bluff, since the straight draw doesn’t have cooler potential. When it makes a nut straight, there will be a four-liner on board, so it’s hard to get paid, and lower straights can’t be confidently played for stacks.
Nonetheless, Giselle54 calls, and the turn brings little besides backdoor spade potential. GucciNIKE continues with the plan. The 6♠ can be used to bluff the river as well if the flush comes home.
Giselle54 has a clear call now with a combo draw.
Once the river pairs the board, GucciNIKE no longer has a good hand to keep barreling. Blocking full houses is going to be important for bluffing this river, and their hand has no full house blockers.
Giselle54, though, is at the bottom of their range and has blockers to both the straight and the full houses. Having the spades is bad, though, since they want GucciNIKE to have spades.
Giselle54 decides to go for the bluff, and GucciNIKE makes a pretty wild hero call. This is a call they can only really make if they are confident that Giselle54 is getting to the river too wide and/or bluffing more than the solver would. Based on how Giselle54 has played in the match, that’s a reasonable read and exploit.
Giselle54 Makes Merged River Bet
With the players 107 big blinds deep, GucciNIKE raised to $6,000 on the button, and Giselle54 reraised to $18,000. GucciNIKE called.
The flop came Q♠9♦8♣. Giselle54 bet very small, $9,000. GucciNIKE made it $27,000, and Giselle54 called. Both players checked the 6♥, bringing the A♠ on the river. Giselle54 bet $29,931, and GucciNIKE called.
Giselle54 showed A♣K♥J♣2♠ for a pair of aces. GucciNIKE had Q♥J♦9♣3♥ for queens up and took the $150,662 pot.

Hand Analysis
Preflop is normal in this hand as well, with Giselle54 three-betting a strong single-suited ace-high hand.
However, the flop goes off the grid right away, with Giselle54 making a very small bet holding nothing but a straight blocker. This isn’t going to be a great play, since it’s just going to generally build the pot for better hands and invite many thinner raises for value.
That’s exactly what happens in this instance. GucciNIKE understands they have to raise much wider facing a bet of this size than something like half pot, and top two with a straight blocker makes for a nice one. It charges weaker holdings and denies cheap turns to hands like the one Giselle54 actually has.
Continuing against the raise is pretty optimistic for Giselle54, but they decide the nut outs are good enough.
Checking back the turn is more than reasonable from GucciNIKE, since it starts to become questionable whether there’s any value in a bet. Giselle54 might not continue with many worse holdings.
The river is interesting because Giselle54 pairs up, but top pair, top kicker might not have showdown value in this line. GucciNIKE would probably bet the turn as a bluff with most hands worse than a pair of aces. So, it looks like Giselle54’s small bet is a bluff, representing aces up, hoping for thin value, or possibly the slowplayed nuts, hoping to induce a raise.
However, GucciNIKE is getting about 4-1 on a call with queens up, and there’s no way they can fold a hand like that. So, it might make more sense to have bluffed bigger on the river, particularly with the J blocker in hand.
As it plays out, GucciNIKE has the hand they represented on the flop and turn, so the bluff doesn’t work.
