The global high-stakes tournament circuit has made its way to South America this fall for the Brazilian Series of Poker Super High Roller Series. This BSOP stop runs from Nov. 14-29 at Sheraton Sau Paulo WTC Hotel and is highlighted by seven events featuring buy-ins of $10,000 or higher. The first two tournaments are already in the books, with millions in prize money awarded just a few days into the festival. Below is a look at the results from the pair of completed events.
$10,000 Super High Roller Invitational

The first event to wrap at this high-stakes focused BSOP series was the $10,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em invitational. The event attracted 113 total entries, resulting in a prize pool worth more than $1.1 million. The top 17 finishers made the money, with big names like five-time bracelet winner Yuri Dzivielevski (17th), Vladas Tamasauskas (15th), Dennys Ramos (4th), and bracelet winner Ivan Luca (2nd) running deep.
Joao Simao emerged victorious in the end, earning $256,000 and his 12th recorded career title as the champion. The two-time bracelet winner’s triumph on home soil helped grow his lifetime haul to more than $11.8 million.
Simao is having a strong 2025, with two of his three largest cashes being earned so far this year. He finished fourth in a Triton Montenegro $50,000 high roller for $615,000 back in the spring and third in the recent Super High Roller Bowl $100,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event for $550,000. His top score remains the $686,242 that he earned as the champion of the 2022 WSOP $5,000 pot-limit Omaha and no-limit hold’em mixed event.
The past few months have been particularly fruitful for Simao. He’s cashed ten times since the start of September, accumulating nearly $1.6 million along the way. This latest win was his second title in that stretch, having taken down a $10,000 mixed NLH/PLO tournament at the PokerStars North American Poker Tour for $174,600.
With 4,468 Card Player Player of the Year points, Simao currently sits inside the top 40 in the 2025 POY standings presented by CoinPoker.

Morocco’s Mehdi Chaoui emerged victorious with the title and the top prize of $315,000. This was the second-largest score on his tournament résumé, trailing the $873,000 he secured for a runner-up finish in a $40,000 mystery bounty event at Triton Jeju in September.
This victory increased Chaoui’s lifetime earnings to nearly $3.4 million, expanding his lead on the Moroccan all-time money list.
Luca backed up his second-place showing in the invitational with a fourth-place finish in this event. The Argentinian now has over $7.6 million in career cashes, with $285,400 added via his two deep runs at this series. He secured $174,000 as the runner-up and another $111,400 for his latest performance.
Several other big names were among the eight players who cashed in this event, including World Poker Tour champion and star poker vlogger Masato Yokosawa (8th) and bracelet winner Zdenek Zizka (7th). Those two are now both ranked inside the top 100 in the POY standings, with Yokosawa at 53rd and Zizka in 78th. This was the 11th final table of the year for the Japanese player and the eighth for the Czech backgammon pro.
