Poker pro Daniel Negreanu is on the verge of his fifth World Series of Poker bracelet. As of around 1:20 a.m. local time Tuesday in Melbourne, Australia, Negreanu held a chip lead of about 11 million to Daniel Marton’s 1.15 million to start heads-up play.
The tournament was the $10,558 buy-in main event in the 2013 World Series of Poker Asia Pacific, the first time the WSOP (known for its Las Vegas festival) held bracelet events in the region. A total of 405 players entered the event, bringing the prize pool to $3.8 million.
Negreanu has had many close calls since his last bracelet in 2008.
