Phil Hellmuth says he can’t sleep.
Hellmuth has been on fire for awhile now. He won two WSOP bracelets in 2012, bringing his total to 13 — and that was a year after three second-place finishes.
The rush has brought his lifetime tournament earnings to more than $17.3 million.
This past weekend, Hellmuth made it to the final of the 64-player NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship. He squared off with his longtime friend Mike Matusow.
The match went Matusow’s way (for a full recap of the final round battle click here), as Hellmuth fell short of his second NBC Heads-Up win. Hellmuth didn’t appear to be explosively grumpy after the loss, but a couple days later he’s still ruminating about the defeat.
