Richard Evans Scoops €75,500 For Topping 597-Strong Field in Irish Capital

Picture courtesy of PokerStarsWelshman Richard Evans has won the PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour Dublin taking down €75,500 for being the last man standing from 597 entrants at Citywest Hotel in the Irish capital.

The 46-year-old qualified for just €44 and now plans to do up his house and ‘”live mortgage free”.

Evans was part of a three-way deal in the €700 + €70 buy in main event that saw the €100,000 top prize reduced and the second and third place players Stephen McGrath and Seamus Birt take €60,000 each.

The final table payouts were:

2: Stephen McGrath (United Kingdom) — €60,000
3: Seamus Birt (Ireland) €60,000
4: Vincent Buis (Netherlands) — €26,800
5: Padraig O’Neill (Ireland) — €20,700
6: Graeme Crozier (United Kingdom) — €16,400
7: Keith Swain (United Kingdom) — €12,600
8: Lee Atherton (United Kingdom) — €9,600

The UKIPT now takes a summer break and returns in September to Aspers Casino, Newcastle, England.
