The latest edition of Card Player Magazine is now available online and features Brian Rast, who was the only player during the 2011 World Series of Poker to win multiple bracelets.

The 29-year-old pro won the $1,500 pot-limit hold’em tournament for $227,232 and followed that up by defeating Phil Hellmuth heads up in the prestigious $50,000 Player’s Championship Event for an additional $1,720,328.

Incredibly, Rast wasn’t even scheduled to play in that first event. “I had just gotten back from Brazil that morning after visiting my fiance. I was exhausted and wasn’t planning on playing the event, but Antonio [Esfandiari] stopped by to try to convince me to register late. I told him no a few times, but then he offered me a 40 percent freeroll with no makeup, and obviously that’s not something you can refuse. I was super short for most of the first day, but I wound up winning it anyway.”

Other highlights from this issue include interviews with Matt Glantz, Matt Matros and Brad Booth, as well as columns from respected poker minds like Matt Lessinger, Ed Miller, Matthew Hilger, Dusty Schmidt, Barry Tanenbaum and Steve Zolotow.
