|
Day 4 at the 2010 World Poker Tour Festa al Lago $10,000 no-limit hold’em main event took place today at Bellagio. When play began 41 players remained and by the end of the night a lucky 13 had made it through to make a final charge at the final television table of six tomorrow.
Some big-name professionals remain with Annette Obrestad leading the way with 2,009,000, and one player is looking to make back-to-back WPT final tables in the U.S. WPT Legends of Poker champion Andrew Frankenberger takes 1,820,000 into tomorrow in second position on the leader board. Allen Kessler rounds out the top three with 1,275,000, and other big names still in the hunt include John Monnette, Jeff Madsen, Noah Schwartz, Bobby Suer, November Niner Brandon Steven, and Randal Flowers.

As the list would suggest the tournament is still well crowded with professional talent, but there were some eliminations today that diminished the star power of the field. Lauren Kling was the final elimination of the night, busting in 14th place during the last level of play.
Other notable day 4 eliminations included Mark Newhouse, Chad Batista, Matt Affleck, Daniel Alaei, Lyle Berman, Barry Greenstein, Matt Stout, Amit Makhija, Gavin Smith, Andreas Hoivold, Erik Cajelais, and Steve O’Dwyer, whose elimination came as a surprise considering he was the chip leader heading into the day.
Card Player Player of the Year contenders Thomas Marchese and Jared Jaffee fell during the day and missed out on scoring any points in the event. POY leader Dwyte Pilgrim has his lead intact and can rest a little easier until the next big tournament.
Check back tomorrow at noon PST for more live coverage of the tournament and videos from CardPlayer TV. The remaining 13 players will play down to a final television table of six tomorrow.
