Damon Burch-Hyson Tops Record Field Of 14,662 In £200 Goliath

The Top Prize Amounted To $489,797 Thanks To The Unprecedented Turnout At Grosvenor Casino Coventry

It’s not often a poker player can buy-in for a couple of hundred in local currency and walk away with over 1,827 times their initial buy-in. But, thanks to a record-setting turnout of 14,662 entries in the 2026 Grosvenor Poker Goliath £200 no-limit hold’em event, Damon Burch-Hyson was able to live out that dream scenario.

Burch-Hyson earned £365,520 ($489,797 USD) for outlasting the largest field in the history of the Goliath tournament. This year’s tournament topped the 2025 total by just over 1,700 entries.

Incredibly, two recent winners of this event came close to another victory at Grosvenor Casino Coventry. Reigning champion Paul Worsley finished 27th, while 2023 winner Alex Todd bowed out in 25th place.

A four-way deal near the end of the event redistributed the remaining prize money, locking up over $224,000 for each of the final four based on their chip counts while leaving $118,617 and the title to play for.

Dayle Gallagher soon finished in fourth place ($239,659). The tournament concluded with a three-way all-in. Lewis Aikman shoved from the button with A5 for just over 7.5 big blinds. Burch-Hyson called from the small blind with A8 , having both of his opponents well covered. Jonny Elworthy came along for his last few big blinds with Q9 from the big blind and the board ran out J64J3 to bring the event to a close.
