David Peters Wins Fifth WSOP Bracelet In $10,000 Six-Max Championship

39-Year-Old Pro Outlasts Field Of 558 To Earn 13th Career Seven-Figure Cash, Clear $55 Million In Total Earnings

There’s only one more day of 2026 World Series of Poker action in Las Vegas, outside of the main event final table in August. As the latest series reached its end, David Peters scored one of the last seven-figure scores of the summer under the wire. The 39-year-old Ohio native won the $10,000 six-handed no-limit hold’em championship for his fifth career WSOP bracelet and a $1,001,391 payday.

Peters defeated Fahredin Mustafov heads-up to seal his milestone bracelet win. Calvin Anderson, who won his sixth and seventh bracelets earlier on at the 2026 WSOP, narrowly missed out on joining an elite group of players with three wins in a single summer and settled for third place.

Peters’ win also earned him 2,100 Card Player Player of the Year points. His first qualifying POY result of 2026 puts him just outside the top 100 in the yearlong race presented by CoinPoker. With the $10,000 buy-in, Peters also qualified for PokerGO Tour points. That singular result puts Peters in the top 20 in the season-long race, well in range of a seat in the $1 million PGT Championship.

It’s a dramatic change of fortune for Peters, who in April got embroiled in a controversy after an alleged unpaid debt to Dylan Linde went public. Peters has since issued a public apology, and now, in the dying days of the 2026 WSOP, he’s recorded the 13th seven-figure tournament cash of his career.

One Last Shot

With the 2026 WSOP main event delaying its final table, the tail end of the festival lingered for a few days beyond the biggest show. This $10,000 buy-in six-handed no-limit hold’em event near the end of the line drew 558 entrants, and created a prize pool of $5,189,400.

A total of 85 players reached the money, with five-time bracelet winner Brian Yoon (79th – $20,144), WSOP POY frontrunner Alex Foxen (65th – $20,144), 2026 WSOP Hall of Fame finalist Chris Moorman (45th – $22,951), and double 2026 WSOP bracelet winner Eelis Parssinen (11th – $65,643) among the many notables to cash.

It took until deep into day 3 of the tournament to reach the official six-handed final table. It didn’t take long for the field to go from seven-handed, to six-handed with the elimination of Tzur Levey, and then five-handed when Anderson eliminated Vladas Tamasauskas in sixth place ($154,625). Anderson also picked off a short-stacked Justin Liberto, sending the two-time bracelet winner to the rail in fifth place ($215,270).

While the tournament wasn’t scheduled to reach a fourth day, the clock paused deep into the morning hours of July 14 with four players remaining. Bulgaria’s Mustafov held a slight edge over Peters, with Anderson and Dominykas Mikolaitis not far behind.

An Extra Day To Victory

While there were seemingly enough chips for action to stretch a fair way into the tournament’s fourth day, Peters made surprisingly quick work of it in the end. He flopped top two pair with K9 on a K93 board. Left with a single 25,000 chip, when the big blind and ante were each 250,000, Mikolaitis’ flopped bottom pair did not improve. Mikolaitis fell in fourth place ($306,313).

Peters started to extend his lead, and then took out Anderson with pocket nines against Anderson’s pocket deuces. Anderson, who earned back-to-back $10,000 championship bracelet wins in mid-June, settled for a podium showing and his biggest cash of the summer ($445,268). He sits in 32nd place in the Card Player POY race.

That left Peters to face off with Mustafov, an Onyx Super High Roller Series champion and WSOP bracelet winner. On the very first hand of heads-up play, Peters’ A7 took on Mustafov’s pocket fives. A 7 on the flop was exactly what Peters needed to take the lead, and his pair of sevens ultimately locked up Peters’ fifth career bracelet win.

This victory pushes Peters over $55.8 million in career recorded earnings.
