WATCH: ‘dudd1’ Pulls Monster Bluff On Cash Game World Championship Leader

The High Stakes Cash Game World Championship hosted by CoinPoker continued on Tuesday and this week’s action saw a massive bluff by ‘dudd1’ for a pot of more than $2,300.

As every day of the competition, the 10th day of the CGWC play once again featured six-max action with blinds at $50-$100.

The hand began with dudd1 raising to $220 under the gun. ‘DaveyJones922’ then three-bet to $700. The rest of the table got out of the way, and dudd1 called, bringing the pot to $1,550.

The flop brought K♥J♦6♦ and dudd1 checked. DaveyJones922 bet $387.50 and received a call. The Q♣ then fell on the turn and dudd1 checked again.

This time DaveyJones922 slowed down and also checked. With the pot at $2,325, the river was the 4♦.

dudd11 thought for several seconds before eventually moving the rest of his $8,912.50 stack all in. DaveyJones922 was a believer and eventually folded, handing dudd1 the pot.

As is the case for every hand in the competition, the winning hand must be shown. dudd1 tabled 10♦10♠, collecting plenty of chips for the huge bluff.

“Turning the tens into a bluff, that’s pretty cool,” commentator and online cash game grinder ‘FloodyMary’ noted of the move. ‘Yoanmero’ was also on commentary and called the play a “cheeky bluff.” They noted that dudd1 sat in a nice spot with the diamond flush blocker and straight draw blockers.

“This is an interesting spot where, for instance, at small stakes … people might know that this is a bluff, but would bluff (for smaller amounts) … which is missing a lot of value when you are going for value,” FloodyMary said. “This play you don’t see so much at small stakes.”

Leaderboard Update

The Cash Game World Championship runs through Dec. 7 and gives no-limit hold’em players a chance to earn a piece of a $100,000 prize pool and a Land-Dweller Rolex valued at $35,000.

Players battle in rake-free cash games with the first-place finisher scoring $35,000 and the watch.

Competitors must play at least 20,000 hands to be eligible for the top five prizes. Weekend VIP games run every Sunday hosted by a VIP with five other qualifying players. CoinPoker tracks progress through a daily leaderboard and players earn points on the leaderboard through their expected win, not their actual winnings.

Despite losing the hand above, DavyJones922 continued to do well in the series. He sits atop the standings with $234,746 and booked a win of more than $5,360 on Tuesday. “TaxHere” is just behind him with $223,282.

One player isn’t running near as well as those players. “LLinusLLove” sits at the bottom, down almost $186,000 even after picking off a massive bluff by Ryan DePaulo earlier in the series. It will be interesting to see if he can turn things around.
