The high-stakes action continued this week at the Brazilian Series of Poker Super High Roller Series inside the Sheraton Sau Paulo WTC Hotel. Five of the seven high rollers on the schedule are now in the books, with every event building a seven-figure prize pool so far. Joao Simao and Mehdi Chaoui were the first pair of champions, while Martin Kabrhel emerged victorious in the $30,000 buy-in affair. Below is a look at the two most recent winners crowned at the BSOP.
$50,000 No-Limit Hold’em

With 40 entries, the $50,000 buy-in event built a final prize pool of $1,880,000 that was split amongst the top six finishers. Joao Simao, just days removed from his victory in the first event of the series, was knocked out on the direct money bubble by fellow Brazilian Leandro Zavodini. With that, the remaining half dozen contenders all locked up at least $135,000 for their efforts.
Zavodini survived to the heads-up match for the title, but was ultimately defeated by Felipe Boianovsky, who earned $640,000 as the champion. This was the second-largest score yet for Boianovsky, trailing only the $752,004 he earned as the runner-up in last year’s European Poker Tour Monte Carlo €50,000 high roller. This latest windfall increased Boianovsky’s recorded earnings to nearly $2.9 million.
Just shy of a year earlier, Zavodini took down a high roller at the BSOP Millions for a career-best score of $603,479. His runner-up showing in this event added $440,000 to his lifetime haul, which has now grown to more than $1.3 million.

$20,000 Single-Day No-Limit Hold’em
Just two days after placing second in the $30,000 high roller won by Kabrhel, Ottomar Ladva battled his way through a field of 58 entries in the $20,000 single-day high roller to earn $321,000.
With the $292,000 the Estonian secured for his runner-up and the $21,000 that came with a 10th-place showing in the kickoff invitational won by Simao, Ladva’s total haul for the festival now sits at $634,000. His career earnings now exceed $3.9 million.
These two scores are both among the top four largest of his career. His largest payday is still the $487,734 that came with a €25,000 high roller win at the 2024 EPT Barcelona stop.
Ladva was not the only player at this final table who was on a roll in Brazil. Ivan Luca finished seventh for $57,000 and his third final-table showing of the festival. He placed second in the kickoff event ($174,00) and fourth in an earlier $20,000 buy-in ($111,400). The Argentinian bracelet winner’s lifetime total now sits at more than $7.7 million.
