The pot-limit Omaha action on CoinPoker has finally slowed a bit, allowing some of the no-limit hold’em players to play some of the biggest cash game pots of the week. ‘MunEZ’ and ‘iWasOnly17’ battled at $200-$400 with $80 antes on Sept. 28, and MunEZ came out significantly ahead, booking a $212,320 win.
Two of the biggest pots MunEZ won came courtesy of massive multi-street bluffs attempted by iWasOnly17. In both cases, MunEZ seemed to have a handle on their opponent’s strategy, and they used iWasOnly17’s aggression against them.
iWasOnly17 Blasts Off With Zero Equity
With the players approximately 130 big blinds deep, MunEZ raised to $1,000 on the button. iWasOnly17 made it $4,000 from the big blind, and MunEZ called.
Both players checked the J♣9♦8♥ flop, bringing a K♥ turn. iWasOnly17 sprang to life with $6,105, and MunEZ called to see the 7♣. iWasOnly17 bet big again with $15,262, and MunEZ called.
iWasOnly17 showed 5♣3♣ for complete air, and MunEZ took it down with 10♦9♠ for a straight, good for a $50,895 pot.

Hand Analysis
iWasOnly17 makes a good three-bet here, as 5-3 is the worst of the suited one-gappers that should three-bet preflop. It’s the worst suited one-gapper that can flop two open-ended straight draws, so it just gets into the three-betting range, while 4-2 should be played as a call.
Both players have clear checks on the flop. iWasOnly17 has complete air aside from a backdoor club draw, and the J-9-8 texture is going to connect with the in-position player’s range too frequently to continuation-bet that way. As for MunEZ, they have a pair and a straight draw, which plays well as a check because it doesn’t do that well against a check-raising range.
On the turn, things start to go awry for iWasOnly17. The K♥ favors their range quite a bit. However, it’s not such an overwhelming advantage that they can just start blasting away with no pair, no draw. Betting 5♣3♣ is simply going to be too wide. The out-of-position player’s bluffs should come from flush draws and some hands like 7-5 that have equity but aren’t great check-calls.
MunEZ has an easy call with a pair plus draw.
It’s much the same situation on the river. A lot of the weakest missed hearts make up the out-of-position bluffs, but iWasOnly17 goes for it with their airball hand. MunEZ has a hand that mixes calls and raises in the solver, so there isn’t much value to be gained by shoving. They opted to call, earning a $50K pot and getting valuable insight into how wide iWasOnly17 was bluffing.
MunEZ Induces Turn and River Bluffs
Playing 120 blinds deep, iWasOnly17 opened to $1,000 and MunEZ made it $4,600 from the big blind. iWasOnly17 called.
MunEZ bet $1,400 on the 8♣3♣2♣ flop, and iWasOnly17 came along to see the 5♠ turn. There, MunEZ slowed down with a check, and iWasOnly17 bet $9,105. MunEZ called, creating a pot of $30,370 on the 2♠ river.
MunEZ checked, and iWasOnly17 fired in the rest, $32,462. He received a swift call, since MunEZ held 7♣5♣ for a flopped flush. iWasOnly17 could only show A♠9♣ for no pair.

Hand Analysis
Everything was normal preflop in this hand, and MunEZ came out betting on the monotone texture with a very small size. That’s the best way to approach these monotone boards from out of position, as the solver favors small bets and checks. It doesn’t use any big sizings.
iWasOnly17 doesn’t have a great hand, but overcards with a club is too strong to fold to that size.
MunEZ checks the turn, which is the best play once again. Most of the aggression from the big blind comes from big flushes, overpairs, and hands with a large club to balance as bluffs.
Facing a check, iWasOnly17 starts bluffing. Again, this bluff is too wide, as A♠9♣ has some river showdown potential. Unlike the prior hand, though, iWasOnly17 isn’t totally off base, because offsuit hands with the A♣ often bluff aggressively here. In fact, if their suits were reversed, this hand would have been a good one to bluff.
MunEZ plays it slow, hoping to induce a final barrel on the river. That works out to perfection, as iWasOnly17 falls into the trap and blasts off the rest of the effective stacks.
Both the turn and rivers bluffs are too wide in this hand, and MunEZ’s trap punishes the aggression, earning a pot worth more than $95,000.
