British pot-limit Omaha specialist Richard Gryko captured the penultimate title of the 2025 Triton Poker Montenegro, outlasting a field of 62entries in the $50,000 PLO six-max affair to earn his first trident trophy and the top prize of $884,000. This was the largest live tournament score yet for the World Series of Poker bracelet winner from Essex, England. He now has more than $3.9 million in recorded scores to his name.
Prior to this triumph, Gryko’s top cash had been the $340,000 he earned for an 18th-place showing in the 20217 WSOP main event. His best Triton result before this win was a podium finish in the $25,000 six-max PLO at the Jeju stop this spring for $320,000.
“The evolution of PLO from a gambling game to what it is now, where players look through a studied, methodological lens. That’s really different to how it was 20 years ago,” Gryko told Triton’s Ali Nejad after closing out the victory.
Gryko first cashed on the live circuit just shy of two decades ago, with a deep run in a $2,500 Omaha eight-or-better event at the 2005 WSOP. Now, he has established himself as one of the top players on the exploding PLO tournament scene.
Only the top ten finishers earned a share of the $3,100,000 prize pool in this six-max tournament, with stars like Stephen Chidwick (10th), recent $25,000 PLO event winner Punnat Punsri (9th), Santhosh Suvarna (8th), and Triton co-founder Paul Phua (7th) running deep.

After Phua was knocked out on the official final table bubble, all-time PLO money leader Eelis Parssinen sat atop the chip counts with Gryko being one of the shorter stacks among the remaining six contenders. Dirk ‘Venividi1993’ Gerritse, a well-known online PLO specialist, was the next to fall. He got all-in with K♦K♠J♦4♥ leading the Q♠Q♦J♥8♥ of five-time Triton champion Danny Tang. A queen-high runout saw Tang make top set to secure the knockout, sending Gerritse home with $190,000 for his sixth-place finish.
A similar scenario played out in the next elimination, but this time Austria’s Klemens Roiter held pocket aces to the double-suited pocket kings of Triton champion Martin Dam. A king hit the felt to end Roiter’s run in fifth place ($245,000).
Despite holding the lead going into six-handed play, Parssinen was ultimately the next to bust. The Finnish bracelet winner and Triton champion lost a big pot attempting to run a big check-raise river bluff only to get picked off by the top two pair of Gryko, who moved to the top of the leaderboard. The stacks evened out a bit as four-handed play continued, though. Parssinen was left on fumes when his double-suited ten-high rundown lost a big clash against the single-suited aces of Gryko. Parssinen then got his last few big blinds in with Q♠9♠8♥7♣ facing the A♣J♣6♥4♣ of Gryko. The board came down A♦7♦3♠J♥4♥ and Gryko’s aces up earned him the pot. Parssinen was awarded $310,000 for his efforts. This was his fourth cash of the series, and third final-table finish. He also placed sixth in the $150,000 no-limit hold’em event for $943,000, the second-largest score of his career.
Tang bowed out in third place. He got the last of his stack in with A♦J♥10♠10♣ after a 9♦5♦4♠ flop. Gryko called with A♥J♣9♥3♠ and drilled the 2♦ on the turn to make the wheel. The 8♦ on the end made Tang’s exit official. The bracelet winner from Hong Kong walked away with $410,000, bringing his career haul to more than $32 million.
Gryko held roughly a 4:1 chip lead over Dam when heads-up play began. That gap was narrowed considerably during the early going, but Gryko was still ahead when the next big clash arrived. Gryko raised to 750,000 from the button with Q♦10♣9♣7♠ and Dam three-bet to 2,250,000 with K♣10♥8♥6♣. Gryko called and the flop came down Q♥4♣2♥ and Dam shoved for 2,600,000 into the pot of 4,750,000. Gryko called and the 9♦ rolled off on the turn to give Dam a gutshot straight draw to go with his flush outs. The 5♦ changed nothing, though, and Gryko’s queens and nines earned him the pot and the title. Dam earned $626,000 for his second runner-up finish of the week, having also placed second in the $25,000 PLO event won by Punnat Punsri just days before this tournament concluded.
