Jim Collopy had one of his best years ever on the live tournament circuit in 2024, making 26 final tables and winning six titles to finish eighth in the Card Player Player of the Year standings presented by Global Poker. The three-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner and reigning Poker Masters series champion secured his first victory of 2025 by taking down the $25,000 championship event at this year’s PokerGO Tour Pot-Limit Omaha Series. Collopy bested a field of 60 entries in the high-stakes PLO affair to earn his second career PGT title and the top payout of $450,367.
This score, the third largest of Washington D.C. native’s career, grew his lifetime earnings to more than $11.6 million.
Collopy managed four in-the-money finishes throughout the 11-event PGT PLO Series, accumulating 356 PGT points and $505,492 in combined earnings along the way. As a result, he finished seventh in the series-long points race. He also earned 504 POY points as the champion of the finale, enough to catapult him inside the top 250 in the 2025 rankings.
A total of 60 entries were made at $25,000 a piece, resulting in a prize pool of $1,500,000 that was ultimately split up amongst the top 10 finishers. The second and final day of play saw 13 players return to the PokerGO Studio inside ARIA Resort & Casino Las Vegas. There were two players eliminated simultaneously on the bubble, which resulted in Tyler Brown and Firas Kashat splitting the min-cash, ensuring that the remaining eight players all cashed for at least $60,000.
That sum was eventually awarded to Artem Maksimov (8th), setting up the official final table of seven with two-time bracelet winner Dylan Weisman atop the counts and Collopy in third chip position. Collopy won a big pot early with quad jacks to further grow his stack.
Current POY race leader Jeremy Ausmus (7th – $60,000) was the first to hit the rail at the final table, with his set of tens running into broadway for Weisman. This was already his seventh final-table finish of 2025, with one title and more than $2.7 million in POY earnings.

besting the AK107 of short-stack Christopher Frank. The German flopped top pair against Collopy’s bottom two pair, but Collopy turned a full house to lock up the pot. Frank ended up with a flush, but it was no good and he was eliminated in sixth place ($82,500). The 2024 Triton Poker Montenegro $100,000 PLO event champion now has over $6.3 million in career earnings.
That pot gave Collopy the lead heading into five-handed play. He then busted Kamel Mokhammed in fifth place ($112,500), with his middle pair and straight draw overcoming the top pair and flush draw of Mokhammed after the chips went in on the flop.
Inaugural PGT PLO Series champion Lautaro Guerra was the next to fall. He raised from under the gun with AQ65 and Weisman re-potted out of the big blind with AAA4. Guerra called and the board came down Q99J3. Guerra was awarded $150,000 as the fourth-place finisher, growing his career haul to nearly $6.4 million in the process.
Two-time bracelet winner Jesse Lonis was the clear short stack heading into three-handed play. He soon got all-in with an open-ended straight draw up against top pair of nines and a gutshot for Collopy. Lonis turned a pair of tens to take the lead, but the river game Collopy nines and fives for the win. Lonis secured $210,000 as the third-place finisher. The 126 PGT points that came with his podium finish were enough to see him surpass Alex Foxen to claim the top spot on the series-long leaderboard. Lonis finished with 662 total points and $799,140 in earnings across five cashes, with one title and four final-table finishes. He was awarded a $10,000 PGT Passport as the latest PGT PLO Series champion.
Heads-up play began with Collopy holding 7,555,000 to Weisman’s 4,445,000. The two hashed out a deal to redistribute the remaining prize money a bit, with Weisman locking up $329,633 and Collopy $350,367. That left the title and $100,000 to play for.
The final showdown lasted just a single hand. Weisman raised to 180,000 on the button with AAK7 and Collopy three-bet to 540,000 with KK88. Weisman re-potted and Collopy moved all-in. Weisman called and the board ran out K1032Q to give Collopy top set and the win.
Weisman headed home with the payout he negotiated, which grew his lifetime earnings to $7.2 million. He finished eighth in the series points race with four cashes and three final-table showings.
