A janitorial worker at casino in Stateline, Nevada was arrested and is looking at a $25,000 bail for allegedly sweeping $10,000 in cash a gambler had accidentally dropped on the ground into his dustpan, according to a report from The Record-Courier.
Police said the gambler had won $70,000 and while leaving the gaming floor dropped a wad of $100 bills totaling $10,000. The employee, 36-year-old Richard Ferrer, allegedly could be seen on security camera looking at the money before eventually taking it to the employee break room.
When later confronted, Ferrer reportedly told the casino the cash was in a garbage can and he was going to give it to his supervisor on his next break. He was later charged with theft.
