Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval recently spoke with RGJ.com on a wide-range of topics, which included Internet gaming in the state.
Nevada is currently working toward running the nation’s first licensed and regulated intrastate online poker industry.
When asked about his prediction for the future of online wagering, he mentioned the potential for legislation at the federal level.
He said that state lawmakers “were able to pass legislation that positions Nevada, if Internet gaming is approved at the federal level, […] to lead the way” in an interstate market.
When questioned about Sheldon Adelson recently vocalizing his anti-web gaming position, Sandoval said that he “respect[s]” his opinion.
