Daylight Savings Time certainly didn’t help the final table of the $10,000 Big Event Bounty Shootout feel any shorter. The nine-handed tournament lasted 15 hours on the final day and didn’t wrap up until nearly 7:00 a.m.
In the end, it was Pat Walsh who emerged as the winner, taking home $241,700. That money was made up of the first-place prize of $171,700, an additional $40,000 for winning his first table, $26,000 in bounties and his five-way share of $4,000 for earning the most knockouts.
Walsh tied with Jonathan Duhamel, Shawn Buchanan, Sameer Al Janedi and John Smith with five bounties each.
Walsh defeated Ali Eslami for the title after a nearly 3 hour heads up match. The two started the match with nearly 150 big blinds between them and by the time it ended, that number was down to 56.
On the final hand, Eslami made a stand holding J
