The World Poker Tour Marrakech main event got underway at the weekend saw 222 players pony up the €5,000 buy in at the Casino De Marrakech in the Moroccan capital.
The number was significantly down on last year’s turn out of 416. Eighty-five players return today for day two of the event which will see the winner awarded €254,745. Twenty-seven players will make the money.
Last year Christophe Savary took down €377,262 for his victory in North Africa.
