The first day of the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) is officially in the books and by all accounts it was a tremendous success. The three events combined to surpass their guarantees by over $2 million.
The highlight of the day came in the $10,000 High Roller tournament, which attracted 313 runners. In the end, David “CrabMaki” Shallow came out on top of Team PokerStars Pro Ville Wahlbeck for an outright win and a $605,655 payday.
Incredibly, event no. 3 did not wrap up until 12:30 p.m. EST and lasted a total of 19 hours and 31 minutes. The marathon tournament was won by joao bauer, who defeated cmpjo for the $316,702 score.
