Steve 'gboro780' Gross Inches Closer, Jay 'seabeast' Kinkade Cracks Top 10

Steve 'gboro780' GrossLast week, the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) failed to make much of a difference in Card Player’s Online Player of the Year race. This week, a number of big SCOOP finishes propelled some players into the top 10 and pushed others out.

Shaun "tedsfishfry" Deeb had a quiet run after winning nearly everything the week before, and it almost cost him his position at the top of the leader board. Steve "gboro780" Gross (pictured right) earned 500 points thanks to a runner-up finish in the SCOOP’s event No. 11, mixed hold’em. Gross was in command with a large chip lead heads-up but couldn’t finish off James "Andy McLEOD" Obst. Had he done so, Gross would now be in first place; instead, he sits just 50 points behind.

Third-place resident frtk took a break from winning every tournament he plays and decided that a second-place finish in the $100 turbo rebuy was good enough for this week. He earned 400 points and was able to leap over Chris "Moorman1" Moorman in the rankings.

Despite losing ground, Moorman still had a positive week, cashing three times and just missing out on a final table in the SCOOP.

Thayer 'THAY3R' RasmussenMoving up one spot to fifth place was Aditya "Intervention" Agarwal, who finished second in the $200 rebuy on PokerStars to Jeff "ActionJeff" Garza. Agarwal also took seventh in the $150 rebuy on Full Tilt.

Thanks to two final tables, Jay "SEABEAST" Kinkade cracked the top 10 and landed himself a sixth-place spot. Kinkade finished fifth in a $100 rebuy and then third in the SCOOP’s event No. 11. His biggest score to date was a win in the Full Tilt Sunday $750,000 guarantee for $147,912.

Mohsin "chicagocards1" Charania had a quiet week and dropped two spots to seventh.

Thayer "THAY3R" Rasmussen (pictured left) also joined the rankings this week thanks to a runner-up finish in a $100 rebuy. Rasmussen also final tabled SCOOP event No. 15, but it failed to qualify for OPOY points.

Ninth place is currently inhabited by Jonathan "shipitobv" Delong, who avoided being pushed out of the top 10 with a sixth-place finish in event No. 4 of the SCOOP.

Tenth place belong to Adam "Roothlus" Levy, who failed to pick up points this week.
